The Photonics group at the University of Bristol, with seven academic members of staff, spans the departments of Electrical & Electronic Engineering and Physics and is subdivided into the Centre for Quantum Photonics and Classical Photonics. The group is involved in several EU framework 7 projects in ICT (FET: Q-Essence, DIAMANT, QUANTIP, SPANGL4Q) and the group leader holds an ERC advanced grant.
Role in BRITESPACE
- Contribution to management activities
- Development of a demonstrator range finding optics and electronics
- Taking part in demonstration experiments testing the laser prototype
- Modeling and simulation of signal to noise limits in ground return for BRITESPACE IPDA LIDAR
